Tooling by Design

Our continued investment in CNC machines enables Freeform Technology to offer extensive automation in delivery of high quality manufacturing capabilities and tooling design. All led by our experienced, accredited, and expert team of technologists.

Working in tandem with our state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design (CAD) hardware and software means we offer capabilities that can take tooling design, in a digitised file format, as a direct input to the CNC fully automated machines. The results are delivery of accurate, repeatable, and high-quality finished tooling.

CNC is a broad term that covers various and divergent machining capabilities. Denoted predominantly by the term axis. Machines can be 3,4 or 5 axis dependent upon tooling feature sets. Here at Freeform Technology, we have invested in the latest and most sophisticated 5 axis machines. This enables us to take the most exacting and complex tooling design, and subsequently manufacture the finished tooling in a single process. It’s an integrated set of actions that manufacture to the very highest of qualities. Our machining capabilities further extend to offering a wide variety of base materials, from metallics to composites.

CNC leverages the economic benefits of broadly taking a one-time set up tooling design and prototype investment cost, to one that then builds the foundation of having the capability of leveraging this original investment through scale, magnitude, and virtually infinite repeatability.

One area which is particularly suited to many customers is high and mid-volume production environments. CNC has the ability to realise economies of scale by lowering manufacturing costs linearly over increased volumes. The business cases are many, varied and diverse. As a consequence, we welcome working with each of our customers to determine the very best approach towards delivery of the benefits realisation that Freeform Technology tooling design can deliver.
