Freeform Technology has been thrilled to be a part of the motorsport composites design and construction of Team Bath Racing’s (TBR) 2015 race car that had been competing in the Formula Student competition that started in August 2015 at Silverstone.
The Formula Student competition has been around for many years with universities and colleges from all around Europe coming together to compete against each other in a variety of different challenges.
Freeform Technology provided the Bath University Team with their extensive knowledge in composite tooling design and manufacture, giving them the full CNC machining abilities, which gave them the ability to create new intricate motorsport composites parts, hopefully giving them the edge in the races they faced.
TBR had a cracking run at the 2015 Formula Student competition, here are the results –
Silverstone Class 1: 1st in Endurance, 4th Overall, Newton award for delivery excellence , GKN Lightest Weight & best value award for IC car.
Silverstone Class 2: 1st in Business, 1st in Cost, 1st in Design, 1st Overall
Austria: 5th in Combustion, 3rd in Skidpad
Spain: 6th in Combustion
