In this interview, Severyn Dubiel, CNC Machinist at Freeform Technology, discusses his first year in our CNC machine shop.
What is your role at Freeform and what does your day-to-day job entail?
My role at Freeform is to set jobs on a variety of machines in the CNC machine shop to start from CMS machines with Fanuc control to DMG machines with Siemens control. On my standard day, I’m collecting paperwork for the jobs of the day, making sure material has been cut to size for what is needed, preparing the right tools for the jobs and making sure the jobs are good enough for our inspection team to check them.
What is the most exciting/interesting part of your role at Freeform?
The most exciting/interesting part is the actual setting and machining for the job, as I just love it everyday as we have something different to do and no two days are ever the same.
What do you enjoy the most about working at Freeform Technology?
What I enjoy the most is having the opportunity to run huge machinery and that no doors for progression are closed. I have been allowed to learn how to use inspection checking tools and the most exciting opportunity is to learn how to program CNC machines and use CAD and CAM software.
What has been your biggest achievement at work?
I think that the confidence I’ve gained with CNC machines is my biggest achievement and like I mentioned earlier the opportunity to learn CAC and CAM software.
